I'm back!

Wed Apr 19, 2006, 12:49 PM
I havn't used DevArt for what seems like ages...almost a year and a half now probably. In case anyone's still watching me, here's what I've been up to sinc then:

- I've finished school and have gone off to Art College. I'm just finishing my Foundation Year at Central St. Martin's in London. It's been a pretty dull year there actually - I've had no real room to experiement and the facilities arn't great. It's supposed to be one of the top colleges in the country - apparently it's running of its reputatation...still I'm leaving there in the summer to do my degree course in Illustration/Animation hopefully at University of West England, Bristol. Fingers crossed...

-I've been working on a commercial project for the last 8 months or so, but unfortunately I had to drop out so as not to let my college work slip - don't put your eggs all in one basket and all that. Check out the website though if you're interested.

Other than that I've just been mucking around really, neglecting art in favour of music and other stuff. I'm back into the art thing now and am definately gonna start updating here again.

Hope to hear from everyone again

I have to take special time to mention ~ ivybeth. She is one of the finest colourists i've seen - not because of her astoundingly clean work like many comic colourists, but for her originality and detail. And also because she took a fairly standard lineart and made it look incredible:

Cheers Ivy.

In other news my tablet nib has broken i think, which is a right bitch because it means i can't ink very well and definately can't colour properly. Gotta get some new ones...but where am i supposed to find £15? That's valuable drinking money!! So it looks like pencil work from me for a while.

I'll also be making the images for the up-and-coming ~comics website. Anyone into comic art, or comics in general or whatever should really have a look at the dA page - it should be quite a helpful community when everything's up and running.

Another incredible colourist, ~Autaux is this week's feature. A great style and a huge chin he's definately worth a watch. Great linearts too...
